Janitor Karl’s Famous Ribs

by Cheri on February 2, 2011

Perfect for the Superbowl!

Pair with: Zinfandel, petite sirah, grenache, syrah or riesling

2 (or more!) racks of baby back ribs, membrane removed

Lawry’s Seasoned Salt

Pepper

Garlic Powder

Large Bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce (I like K.C. Masterpiece or Sweet Baby Ray’s)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 285 degrees.
  2. Season ribs with salt, pepper and garlic powder
  3. Cook ribs, about 15 minutes per side, on medium heat outdoor gas or charcoal grill  to lightly brown, sear juices in and impart smokey flavors.
  4. Place racks in a large foil pan.
  5. Cover ribs generously with a large bottle of barbecue sauce.
  6. Seal the pan with heavy duty foil, trying to make it as airtight as possible.
  7. Place in the preheated oven and cook for 3 or more hours.  No peeking!
